CIMA

Background
For those who wish to develop a successful and diverse career in Financial and Business Management, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification is ideal. Recognized and respected throughout the world,the CIMA qualification offers you the opportunity to develop not only accountancy skills, but also key decision making, management, strategic and analytical skills. These skills will be your passport to professional success in a variety of business fields including commerce, financial services, consultancy,government, the public sector and manufacturing.

Entry Criteria

There are a number of entry routes which take into account previous school leaver and graduate qualifications and allow you to study for the CIMA qualification, provided you are 18 or over. You will need to have reached a good standard in mathematics and English before commencing your studies.

• By mid March - for May exams
• By mid September - for November exams

CIMA exam dates There are 2 exam sittings each year:
• May
• November

Registration with CIMA
All students who wish to sit CIMA examinations must:
• Register as a student with CIMA

You must register with CIMA:
• By 31 January - for May exams
• By 31 July - for November exams
• Register to sit specific exams with CIMA
(you will be sent an exam entry form once you have registered with CIMA)

You must register to sit exams:
• By 1 March - for May exams
• By 1 September - for November exams

Test of Professional Competence in Management Accounting (Case Study)

Award for successful completion of examinations at Strategic / TOP CIMA level: Passed Finalist Certificate. Passed Finalists may then become Members of CIMA after a period of relevant work.
