Postgraduate Diploma In Engineering

Entry Requirements

This one semester course is designed to lead onto the validated M.Sc. offered at Anglia Ruskin University and is designed to attract those engineers who have successfully completed an engineering qualification at degree level or those practicing engineers holding an HND or Chartered Engineer status. Those holding HND qualifications wishing entry must also have extensive engineering experience and are currently employed in the engineering industry in a senior managerial position. The experience gained by working and managing resources at this level will allow us to accept your application as being equivalent to a graduate through your experiences in engineering management. Applicants must also hold the IELTS qualification of 6.5 or above or a qualification deemed equivalent. This course is offered on a part time or full time basis. This Post Graduate Certificate will give the recipients of this qualification the opportunity to progress onto the Anglia Ruskin University 's M.Sc in Engineering Management. Entry will be through the Anglia Ruskin University 's APL scheme and should attract 60 general credits at level 4.

Overseas students must enrol as a full time student to comply with the UK Border Agency rules .

Aims of the course

This course is aimed at professional engineers who aspire to management positions or are practicing engineers who need to further develop their management skills and develop their knowledge of current management techniques. It will provide students with the wide range of skills which are required in order to control complex technical organisations or engineering processes. It is a taught Pg Certificate which can be studied full-time over one semester or over 2 semesters when studied part time.

The course hopes to develop your skills in, managing people, controlling finances and making optimum use of the company's resources through the most up-to-date project management techniques.

This course aims to give you;

1. The ability to manage complex projects that use advanced technology;

2. The ability to establish the resources required to successfully complete a complex project;

3. An understanding of the legal framework for the relationship between companies particularly when large or critical contacts are involved;

4. An understanding of the need for companies to be inventive and how that can be nurtured in practice.

5. Transferable skills so that you can apply your knowledge and skills in a number of industries.

This course of will be taught at Old Street Campus situated in the heart of London .

Leading To

MSc in Engineering Management

After the student has successfully completed the Post Graduate Certificate in Engineering Management at the London School of Business Management he/she will be able to apply for Accredited Prior Learning approval for entry onto the Anglia Ruskin University M.Sc course in Engineering Management. This course will be taught at the Rivermead Campus of Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford . Essex.
